Alpha Phi Omega

Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 Banquet

As a committed member of Alpha Phi Omega, I took the initiative in planning the biggest event, the Banquet, for 2 terms. I successfully oversaw and executed all aspects of the event, including venue booking, food and beverage, registration, decoration, logistics, and transportation. I provided weekly updates for the executive committee as well as the active body at general meetings over the 5 week period. It was an honor to bring this event to reality twice and celebrate the achievements of my brothers and the chapter.

Fellowship Vice President

As the Fellowship Vice President of Alpha Phi Omega during Fall and Winter quarters of 2022-2023, I was responsible for planning and executing bonding events for an active body of 35 over a term of 18-weeks. I hosted weekly events for a total of 30 hours over the course of my term. I dedicated tasks to a committee of 3 and conducted weekly meetings. I utilized Gantt Chart to tack all details of the events such as finances, logistics, attendance, registration, and preparation progress. It was a pleasure to foster memorable experiences and grow the camaraderie within the chapter. A selection of the events I hosted are listed below.

Pumpkin Painting

I planned and hosted Pumpkin Painting as part of Halloween-themed Fellowship week. The event provided the opportunity for active members and potential new members to interact with one another while exploring their creativity.

Hot Cocoa & Mafia Night

As part of the Halloween-themed Fellowship week, I hosted games of Mafia and provided hot chocolate for the attendees. This event brought the actives and potential new members closer in an informal environment.

Paint Night

I planned and executed a 2-hour rush event involving 30 people. The event allowed each person to receive a painting of their choice by another member by random. Attendees were split into random groups of 5 to foster relationship building.

Fellowship Raffle

The Fellowship Raffle was a strategy to resolve the phenomenon of low event attendance toward the end of the term. The raffle successfully raised event attendance in the final week by 150% compared to past terms.

Horror Movie Night

As part of the Halloween-themed Fellowship week, I streamed Hush, a movie voted on by the chapter. I also provided snacks for attendees to share.

Karaoke Night

I coordinated with the UCSB's Instructional Development department to bring the karaoke experience to the active body. I provided snacks and juice for the attendees, and fostered a safe and supportive environment for the event.
